Troubleshooting complex equipment electrical systems is both time consuming and costly. The critical information in printed handbooks is often obsolete by the time it is in the field, and can be deadly if inaccurate information is not properly disseminated. Due to Mimetic's ability to be updated as often as needed and transmitted electronically, the field technician always has access to the most up-to-date and accurate information available. This technology is currently in development for the US Air Force, and will soon be available for the commercial/private sector as well. The technology uses open standards such as Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) and eXtensible Markup Language (XML).

Mimetic^SM can run over the Internet, your organization’s intranet, or as a stand-alone application on a notebook or laptop computer. The interface is intuitive, so there’s no complicated software to learn. Mimetic^SM acts on intelligent relationships created on each drawing (using specialized convresion technology), thus the final product is easily tailored to meet your specific needs. Since the graqhics are Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG), you can search the graphics for any text string, including parts data, mod identifiers, wire numbers, plugs and more.

A displayed diagram is fully interactive and "smart." Placing your mouse pointer over a wire highlights that wire from endpoint-to-endpoint, with interactive switch states and power flow based on each state as it is set by the user. You can trace wiring connectivity from point A to point B throughout the entire equipment or aircraft, linking multiple wiring diagrams and systems together, with dynamic zooming and highlighting of the signal and/or wire on each following graphic.

Associated parts data are also interactive. Selecting a parts component links related parts ordering information which can be ordered with just a few clicks.
